PROGRAMME NOTE

 

Die Schönheit, die noch nie geschah is the first of a series of extractable chamber pieces from a larger work for pierrot ensemble with the working title Sein. Die Schönheit, die noch nie geschah consists of the central material from the prologue and the first movement of Sein. Sein was originally commissioned by Ana Luisa Ribeiro and Maria Nabeiro for ensemble Sketch351, but due to a lack of funding the project was never realised.

The majority of Die Schönheit, die noch nie geschah was composed in the fall and winter of 2020, before being finished in September of 2021.
